Classic French Croissant

The French Croissant is truly a breakfast classic.


  • 2 pounds all-purpose flour
  • 1 small pack of dry yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup peanut butter


In a small bowl combine the yeast with 1/2 cup of warm milk, 1 tsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of all-purpose flour. Allow it to stand for about 30 minutes.

Combine the yeast with other ingredients and make a smooth dough.

Shape 16 little bowls and roll out the dough. Place 1 tsp of peanut butter at the center of each croissant and roll in.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and bake the croissants for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, combine 1 egg and 1 egg yolk in a bowl. Spread this mixture with a kitchen brush over each croissant before removing them from the oven.
